What are they and what were they awarded for?

Combat Infantryman Badge awarded to enlisted soldiers and junior officers only who actually served in combat during World War II. The criteria for this award was so stringent that, after the war, the Army reviewed the criteria and decided that anyone who earned the CIB during the war had also met the criteria for the Bronze Star Medal and made the award automatically.
Bronze Star Medal awarded for superior service or bravery. This medal was awarded for having qualified for the Combat Infantryman Badge.
Army Good Conduct Medal presented to enlisted soldiers for three continuous years of honorable service.
American Defense Service Medal for service in the American Theater of Operations during World War II.
American Campaign Medal given to members of the Armed Forces for service in the American Theater of Operations during a specific campaign period.
Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal for service in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations in World War II. This award included two "Battle Stars" representing participation in two named battles within the theater.
World War II Victory Medal presented by a grateful nation to all who participated in bringing about victory in World War II.
Phillippines Liberation Medal presented by the Philippines government for participation in the liberation of the country.
